Writing for DYSLEXIC STUDENTS
This course started out to be a workshop for parents of dyslexic students to support them to LEARN TO READ IN 20 HOURS.
It was a great experience to see how much a student can improve in such a short time - but it also has shown how valuable it would be for a teacher to support the students instead of parents.
There is never enough time, energy or experience for parents to fully prepare their child for literacy.
Writing has shown to be a good way to start the reading process, as so many students find it easier to read what they have written first, even if dictated to a parent.
Having a good grasp of grammar and spelling helps students to use better language and this course covers these topics too.
